A specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to perform a “gastric sleeve surgery” for a 45-year-old patient who was suffering from excessive weight gain, which caused her health problems.
Dr. Zuhair Saleh Al-Badr, general surgery specialist and obesity surgery consultant at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, stated that he successfully performed “a gastric bypass operation on a 45-year-old patient suffering from severe obesity, as she weighed about 125 kilograms.”
According to Dr. Al-Badr, the patient suffers from many health problems due to obesity, including:
– Breathing difficulty.
– Joint and bone problems.
– Diabetes.
He adds: “The surgery was performed under general anesthesia, and was supervised by the anesthesia consultant at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Abdul Amir Nouri.”
He adds: “After observation for 24 hours, the patient was discharged in good health.”
