A medical team at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital in the holy city of Karbala was able to remove large fibrous nodes in a 43-year-old woman, through a successful surgical operation performed by obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Taktum al-Arabi, with the assistance of general surgery specialist Dr. Zuhair Saleh.
Dr. Taktum Al-Arabi stated that
“The patient is unmarried and came to us from Basra Governorate, which presented us with the challenge of keeping the uterus without removing it.”
She said
“The patient was complaining of large fibrous nodes in the uterus, which were removed while keeping the uterus intact.”
She indicated that
“The patient visited several health centers and institutions, and all diagnoses agreed on removing the nodes and the uterus.”
She continued by saying:
“But the patient’s anxiety prevented her from having the operation in those institutions until she visited Imam al-Hujjah Hospital and it was performed successfully with the help of general surgery specialist Dr. Zuhair Saleh.”
The obstetrics and gynecology specialist at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital confirmed that the patient left the hospital the next day after the surgical procedure and that she is in improved health.
