The medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital successfully treated a Baghdadi woman in her 60s with diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and a 15-cm umbilical hernia which has caused her constant pain for the past 30 years and digestive problems.
GI surgeon Emad Abd Al-Sahib Geddoa stated: “The patient visited Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital for medical examination and CT scan. We decided to perform a supra-major surgery under spinal anesthesia, with the assistance of plastic surgeon Mohammed Mustafa Weiss and anesthesiologist Abd Al-Ameer Noori.
Dr. Geddoa added: “The hernia was repaired with a 25×25 cm mesh, followed by a cosmetic surgery for the abdomen. This took approximately 3 hours with a satisfying outcome. The patient was discharged 3 days later after making a successful recovery, praise be to Allah.”
