A specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to treat a child aged one year and eight months who was suffering from a large congenital inguinal hernia with the intestine prolapsed into the hernia.
The urologist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Ali Abu Tahin, stated that he performed an operation on the child during which
“Hernia repair and re-strengthening of the muscular wall of the abdomen were done.”
Dr. Abu Tahin confirmed that the child was released from the hospital after his health condition improved.
He explains: ..
“Inguinal hernia surgery is a necessary surgery to correct a hernia in the abdominal wall that occurs in children.”
He adds:
“During the operation, the hernia is repaired and the muscular wall of the abdomen is re-strengthened, which is one of the necessary operations to prevent possible complications such as intestinal obstruction.”
