The surgical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital successfully performed a laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) for a man in his 60s with 120-grams prostate glands. Urologist Dr. Fadhil Abbas stated that: “The patient has been suffering from hypertension, diabetes, and prostate enlargement for years. The medical examination revealed that he needs LRP. During the procedure, we discovered an undiagnosed ureteral stricture. We opened the narrowing and removed the prostate in a single laparoscopic surgery, taking into consideration the patient’s health condition and chronic illnesses. The patient was discharged from the hospital after making a full recovery.”
