Our cardiac catheterization team recently performed an urgent surgery for a man in his 60s who presented to the emergency department of Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital. The media department reports: “The patient was suffering from severe chest pain, thus the cardiac catheterization team was called immediately. Interventional cardiologist Emad Marji (Lebanon) performed an emergency angiography which revealed a total occlusion in the patient’s left anterior descending artery(LAD)”.
The media department adds: “Usually, in such cases, the patient needs an open-heart surgery because most of his coronary arteries had narrowed, however, a mesh was placed on the artery and the surgery was successful. The patient was discharged from the hospital after making a full recovery.”
