A 70-year-old patient got rid of the complications of cholecystitis after removing gallstones at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, without the need for general anesthesia during the operation.
General surgery specialist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Zuhair Saleh Mahdi al-Badr, stated:
“The patient was suffering from multiple gallstones and recurrent cholecystitis, and she had previously had a duodenal ulcer operation.”
He explains:
“The patient visited Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital and we performed a laparoscopic cholecystectomy on her under epidural anesthesia because of her suffering from chronic bronchial asthma, which prevented us from using general anesthesia.”
He adds:
“Anesthesia was supervised by Dr. Abdul Amir Al-Nouri.”
He confirmed that
“The surgery was completed successfully and the patient was discharged feeling better without any significant difficulties.”
