{"id":56138,"date":"2024-04-07T11:29:56","date_gmt":"2024-04-07T08:29:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/karbalahospital.org\/nephrectomy-for-40-year-old-woman-using-advanced-technology-at-imam-al-hujjah-hospital\/"},"modified":"2024-04-07T11:29:56","modified_gmt":"2024-04-07T08:29:56","slug":"nephrectomy-for-40-year-old-woman-using-advanced-technology-at-imam-al-hujjah-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karbalahospital.org\/en\/nephrectomy-for-40-year-old-woman-using-advanced-technology-at-imam-al-hujjah-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Nephrectomy for 40-year-old woman using advanced technology at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to remove a \u201cdamaged kidney\u201d from a 40-year-old patient by using very advanced technology provided by the hospital.<br>The urology specialist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Haider Ali Hadi al-Qadi, stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe patient suffers from chronic pain in the right flank with recurrent infections in the kidney and bladder.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cLaboratory tests and color ultrasound revealed the presence of obstruction and severe dilatation in the right kidney and ureter, with multiple stones in the right ureter.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAfter a radioisotope examination to evaluate kidney function, it was found that the kidney was completely damaged as a result of chronic obstruction.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The urology specialist adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe decision was to remove the damaged kidney using laparoscopy with small incisions not exceeding 5 mm. In such operations, the sample is extracted through a small incision after the removal process is completed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>But thanks to the availability of the modern \u201cMorcelator\u201d device at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, the sample was withdrawn in the form of small pieces from the same openings of the laparoscope without the need for an additional surgical incision, according to Dr. Al-Qadi.<br>He also confirmed that<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe patient was discharged in
