The patient was admitted to the ICU, barely conscious, and her vital signs, as well as the lab test results, indicated that she was suffering from a severe blood infection in addition to a negative response of the patient&#8217;s immune system to her own body tissues. The patient was intubated and placed on a ventilator for short periods of time. Her treatment began immediately, following international protocols. She received high doses of immunoglobulin to reduce the antibodies in her bloodstream and then smaller dosages when her health started to improve.<\/p>\n\n<p>Physicians and resident doctors followed up on her condition at the ICU, administering antibiotics, palliatives, and sedatives to the patient who suffered a second-degree burn to 80% of her body.
