Imam Al-Hujjah hospital is a charitable work established and owned by the Development and Relief Foundation, which is registered as a nongovernmental organization (NGO) and characterized by its public service. It’s also recognized in the Economic and Social Affairs Council of the United Nations as well as in the United States as a non-profit charity organization exempt from public tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS.
The Development and Relief Foundation was founded in 2004 with the firm belief that providing services to the poor and destitute is the responsibility of both the civil society and the government. Therefore, the foundation focuses on providing education, healthcare and vocational training services to the disadvantaged citizens.
One of the first achievements of this foundation was the orphan elementary and high schools. Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (AS) school and Salihat High School for girls host more than 500 students. Other humanitarian services include providing aid to displaced and underprivileged families, fostering/sponsoring orphans and the Zakat fund, as well as profit-free microfinance loan program.
